At least they fixed that at the movie(though sadly we didn't get some scene of her getting her own throne, just its suddenly there).
Sadly it didn't stay for long due to the writers making Luna retire because they thought it was a "wonderful" idea to honor one of Faust's old ideas(even though we don't know what she planned for Luna's case)
